Guylian Belgian chocolate is a unique recipe made only by Guylian
in Belgium. The superior Belgian chocolate starts with an exceptional
blend of the finest West African cocoa beans. Cocoa beans are selected
from various cocoa growing estates to find the perfect beans to make the
most luxuriously rich and decadent Belgian chocolate. Only cocoa beans that
meet Guylian’s highest quality standards and that are produced and sourced in a sustainable way are selected and then blended to create our superior Belgian chocolate.
The Guylian Quality Signature ensures that we use 100% pure cocoa butter in our seashell chocolate truffles, the critical ingredient that makes chocolate so desirable as it delivers the luxuriously creamy mouthfeel for which the best premium chocolate is known. Guylian does not allow cocoa butter to be replaced by cheaper vegetable fats; as vegetable fats don’t deliver the same taste experience and mouth feel consumers expect from premium chocolates. It is this quality promise that delivers the superior taste and texture that defines the luxuriously creamy, "melt-in-your-mouth" Guylian Belgian Chocolate Truffle experience.
Did you know? Cocoa butter has a low melting point (just below body temperature), so the moment you first touch a Guylian Chocolate, you can feel it start to melt. As you place the Guylian chocolate in your mouth, it creates a luxuriously creamy texture that is meant to be slowly savoured.

Guylian Artisanal Belgian Chocolates are carefully marbled to combine the distinctively unique flavors and textures of the finest Belgian white chocolate, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate.

Guy Foubert was the first
chocolatier to bring together and marble the intricate flavours
of Belgian white, dark, and milk chocolates. A Guylian marbled
chocolate allows the chocolate's message, its luxuriously creamy texture
and rich decadent taste, to be fully appreciated. First, there is the visual beauty
of the marbled chocolates, seashell chocolates and chocolate seahorses where no chocolate is ever the same. Then, each chocolate comes together to deliver a euphoric chocolate taste experience, one that is so rich and so decadent it becomes a chocolate lover's best friend.
Our Signature Chocolate Truffle Filling
Guylian's signature chocolate truffle filling is the original recipe of founder, Guy Foubert. This secret recipe has maintained its authenticity for more than five decades and is only made by Guylian's Master Belgian Chocolatiers in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. The key to Guylian's signature truffle filling is fresh hazelnuts, harvested from sunny orchards in the best Mediterranean growing regions. Each harvest is evaluated separately with exacting quality standards to ensure only the finest hazelnuts are chosen for our truffle filling, known in Europe as praline filling. The hazelnuts are carefully stored in the most ideal conditions until they are used to create the perfect truffle filling. Hazelnuts are gently roasted and caramelized in small-batch copper kettles under the watchful eye of Belgian Chocolatiers.
Using the founder's original recipe, Guylian's Belgian Chocolatiers
combine the finely crushed roasted hazelnuts with Belgian milk chocolate to create
our signature, luxuriously creamy Guylian chocolate truffle filling. This unique
flavor combined with the rich and decadently smooth Belgian chocolate
creates an unforgettable taste experience that cannot be found in any other chocolate.
"Praline" [prah-leen] and
"Praliné" [prah-leen-ey] are synonymous with
"delicate chocolate truffle" and "rich and creamy milk chocolate hazelnut
filling" in Belgium.
"Praline" (no accent) refers to chocolates with a thin shell filled with a
creamy centre. "Praliné" (with an accent) refers to the rich truffle center
made with roasted hazelnuts and creamy chocolate. Together, they make
Belgian chocolate truffles which are luxurious and decadent, always enticing
one to
slowly savour.
